About Kobadoo Shapes

The same memory drill as its flags sibling, with coloured geometric shapes instead of countries. Stripping out the recognisable subject matter makes it harder rather than easier: there is nothing to attach a name to, so you are working with raw visual order.

How to play

  • A sequence of coloured geometric shapes is shown to you.
  • Reproduce that sequence in the order it was presented.
  • Shape and colour both count, so recalling one of them is not enough.

Tips

  • Invent names as you go. "Red triangle" is far easier to hold than the image of one, and the game is testing sequence recall rather than visual fidelity.
  • Spend your attention on the middle of the sequence. The first and last items tend to look after themselves; the middle is where recall actually breaks.
